That's not good, is it?

Apparently Warren Ellis has gotten his hands on the script for Constantine, has taken his read, and has given it back to whomever swiped it for him. His singular response?

"Oh boy."

He also said he'll probably be talking about it some more in a future column or Bad Signal. I'm willing to speculate that this is not a good sign. But let's take a look at the facts: John Constantine is an asocial asshole, capable at magic but even more capable at con games, mean, nasty, unpleasant, but in many ways likable or at least appealing. He is the very heart and soul of London, and every power game he ever struggled in was a sign of his struggle against that crazy bitch Thatcher and Parliament.

And in the movie, he's from LA, he's Keanu Reeves, and he's an okay guy. That's great, people. Next Superman movie, let's just make him from earth, how about that? Let's fuck with key parts of a character's origin.
